2026-2027 Residency Program

Built to Lead. Sent to Serve.

Southall Church Residency Program

At Southall, we believe the Church is called to continually raise up the next generation of ministry leaders—people who are deeply rooted in Christ and equipped for real-world ministry.

Through hands-on experience, intentional mentorship, and spiritual formation, our residency program prepares leaders to serve with wisdom and humility—ready to multiply the Kingdom wherever God calls them.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Southall Residency Program is broken into three trimesters focusing on the following key areas:

Church & Culture

One of the highest priorities of any good leader is to build and guard the culture of your team. The first trimester will take a deep dive into the unique culture of Southall Church — learning about our vision, mission, values and leadership behaviors. Residents will learn what healthy team dynamics look like, the importance of leading with vision, and gain better insight into the purpose of the local church and how to live on mission.

Competency & Character

The best leaders never stop learning. The second trimester focuses heavily on guiding the Residents on how to think and act like a spiritually mature, top level leader. Residents will be trained on the basics of systematic theology, goal setting, conflict management, spiritual disciplines, how to
be a life long learner, and walk away better equipped to lead themselves and others.

Calling

Residents will finish well and transition into their next season equipped for ministry. They’ll develop a personal mission statement, learn to advocate for themselves with humility, and step into their calling with passion and clarity—while establishing healthy rhythms for sustainable, life-giving ministry.

Who is the Residency Program for?

This program is for individuals exploring a future in vocational ministry. We're looking for people who bring both humility and a hunger to grow—leaders who are eager to be coached, stretched, and developed personally and professionally.

Who is eligible?

Ages 19-26. Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of one year of higher education (college or university) or vocational training.

How long is the program?

Southall Residency is a 1-year program which runs early June to late May of the following year.

Do you require an undergraduate degree?

While we prefer post secondary education, it is not required to apply for the program.

Will there be compensation?

Southall provides a base bi-monthly salary as well as on-site housing. There is also an opportunity to earn Certificates of Ministry through Franklin Bible College.

What about housing & transportation?

Free, gender-specific housing to all single Residents. Residents will be required to have their own form of transportation.

Can Residents hold a second job?

Due to the nature of the program, we ask that Residents not work an additional job while in the program. The residency requires many late hours and sometimes last minute requests that may conflict with your ability to successfully work a second job.
